ONI 507KHN 18OZ “KIHANNEN” TIGHT FIT STRAIGHT. Extremely slubby denim, executed with impeccable grace.

MEASUREMENTS (raw) W 32.3″, Rise 10″, Thigh 11.6″, Knee 8.2″, Inseam 36.6″, Leg Opening 7.7″

MEASUREMENTS (after warm soak, legs only) Thigh 11.4″, Knee 8″, Inseam 34.5″, Leg Opening 7.4″

FABRIC: 18oz unsanforized American cotton selvedge raw denim woven by master weaver Oishi-San in Japan. Cut and sewn in Japan.

My packaged from denimio.com arrived about four or five days after I ordered it which is impressively fast. I couldn’t contain myself. I ran up the stairs to my apartment. My first pair of ONI’s! After all the mystery, after many hours of searching for fit pics and measurement charts. My fingers had been crossed for weeks. Did I get the right cut? Did I go with the right fabric? would they fit?? I got up to my apartment ripped open the packaging and pulled out this beautiful pair of jeans.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The most intensely slubby denim I’ve ever felt. Once I got over that aspect I was able to realize the true beauty of this fabric. The fat white vertical slub yarns look like heavy rain falling through a dark and thick fog effect created by varying thickness of deep indigo warp yarns. The loose weave makes the thickness of this denim feel more like 20oz. than 18oz.

The waist and rise were perfect! I wanted the legs to be slimmer so I warm soaked the legs, careful to avoid wetting rise.

I love these jeans so much I immediately put in an order for their 546zr “Secret Denim”. I’m going to wear both pairs until they fall part completely, which will probably be a very long time.
