Cut: Tapered Slim fit. A mid-high rise, slim top block, moderate thigh with a taper down the leg.
Measurements size 32: Wasit 32.5″, front rise 11.5″, upper hips 17.5″, lower hips 19.5″, thigh 11.5″, knee 8.25″, hem 7.25″, inseam 35.5″.
Fabric: 15.3oz, sanforized Italian selvedge denim, shuttle loom woven Berto Mills. 100% long-fiber cotton blend Rope-dyed with indigo. A very high tension yarn used in this tightly woven right hand twill. This is a very interesting denim, I don’t have anything quite like it from any other mill. There is a small and tightly wound slub yarns found in the warp causing a faint vertical pattern. This denim has a soft, flat hand that creases very easily, which is very promising for honeycomb development. To me, some denim feels very dry like it could absorb moisture and some denim feels like there is moisture in the fabric. This denim feels a little inky and sticky, like it is full of moisture, another confusing statement for “Dry Denim” lol. Very little shrinkage or stretch. This denim crocks a lot and has A green-cast weft and a warp that I feel has a slight red hue to the indigo.

First Impressions: A very well made pair of jeans with nicely executed single stitching. A great pair for someone looking to standout a bit in the raw denim crowd. I love the denim fabric! So different from the Japanese and American denim I am used to. Even though it is not quite in the heavyweight category, it wears like heavyweight denim, very substantial and on the warmer side. It is a great tapered fit but be careful, the hips are very slim in proportion to the waist size. Because of this and the limited amount of stretch this denim has, I would recommend sizing up (unless you have a slim hip area). For me the back-cinch is purely cosmetic. The pockets arcs are executed very nicely but may be a little more than I’m used to. I personally would like to see an option with tonal indigo stitching, so I can enjoy the arcs but not have them take attention away from the other great details. All in all, a very good quality pair of jeans!
You can pick up this pair at JWJ Brand’s website.
