Cut: A slim fit 6-pocket type III Jacket.
Measurements (Small): Shoulders 17″ chest 20.5″, length 24.5″, sleeve 24″
Fabric: 13.5oz 100% cotton sanforized right hand twill selvedge denim from Kuroki Mills, Japan. A nice and dark black warp and weft. Medium tension yarns are woven together in to a moderately tight weave. A relatively flat surface with very small slub yarns in the warp. This denim has a soft hand from day one and is very comfortable. With a soak it gets a little starchy and makes for some good creasing.
Details:
- YKK hardware
- Contrasting chrome donut style buttons
- Two breast pockets, two hand pockets, and two inside pockets
- Hang loop inside collar
- Classic red line on white selvedge ID
- Hidden selvedge inside the front placket (both sides)
- The Encampment Co. tent logo tab inside waist band
- Tonal black stitching
- Bar tack reinforcements instead of rivets
First Impressions: This is the quintessential black denim jacket, perfected. Once I tried on this jacket I put my other black denim type III’s in storage. The Encampment Co. didn’t fuss around with extraneous details, instead they focused on the perfect cut and a clean look. the 6-pockets and slim but moveable cut give this jacket ultimate functionality and a classic cool look. I love how there is a bit of extra room through the arms. I can actually bend my elbows all the way! The silver buttons give this jacket a little pop and contrast, the double hidden selvedge is a very nice detail. A stealth version of this jacket would also be cool. One thing I really like about this jacket is that it does not have any sulfur smell, which all my other black jackets have because of the sulfur dye.
You can purchase this jacket at The Encampment Co. website.
